Latest information: Electronic Family Festival 2011
The weather has been indifferent for the past few weeks, but the prospect of the soon-come Electronic Family festival - and a sunnier weather forecast - is bringing a sunnier disposition to many. The Amsterdam forest is the glorious setting for the Electronic Family festival, where three fantastic arenas with world-class line-ups - the Family Stage, A State Of Trance stage, and Space Ibiza Beats And Kumharas present Balaeric - await to massage all of the senses.
Tickets
There are still tickets available for Electronic Family. We advise everyone to purchase tickets in advance through official channels at www.electronicfamily.nl. If the festival is not sold out by July 30th there will be tickets available at the entrance to the festival. Tickets will be 60 Euros apiece.
Program
Electronic Family is an outdoor celebration for lovers of electronic music, a sound that has been rocking dancefloors for over 20 years. Two stages will consist of trance music - the most popular electronic music genre - in all its various shapes, sizes and forms, while the third stage will bring a warm Ibiza vibe to life in the intimate city forest. For the icing on the cake, multi-instrumentalist/trance songwriter Eller van Buuren will be performing. He'll be featuring a number of famous vocalists while performing a unique live set consisting of a number of trance classics.
FAMILY STAGE
Assigned to the Family Stage is the middle of the Electronic Family festival, the absolute top spinners in trance will be making an appearance. With famous DJs Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Markus Schulz, Gareth Emery, Aly & Fila, Gabriel & Dresden and Wippenberg on the line-up, this is one of the strongest bills you will find on any festival stage anywhere. Nadia Ali is the host of the day on this stage. Here's the full time table:

A STATE OF TRANCE
The globally syndicated radio show A State Of Trance is an important contact point for the international electronic family. From the main green oasis area at the festival on July 30th a live broadcast of the trance event will be transmitted, which millions of listeners on the Internet can catch if they're not in attendance at the festival. The fireworks on the A State Of Trance stage will be set-off at first by Setrise, then SEAT's Next DJ will be followed by Leon Bolier and then Rank 1 vs Jochen Miller. The middle section of the programme on this stage will consist of our No.1 DJ Armin van Buuren partnering three other top trance DJs in turn - Markus Schulz, Ferry Corsten and then Gareth Emery. Simon Patterson, Alex MORPH and Sied van Riel will round off the festivities on this stage, where plenty more fireworks will be going off.

SPACE IBIZA AND PRESENT
Kumharas Balearic Beats From the warm south of the Electronic Family of Europe, four Mediterranean purveyors of chill out music will be flying in to play the music they soothe the masses with every summer on the party island of Ibiza. Jose Maria Ramon, Malte, Isaac and Eva Pacifico will be creating beatific atmospheres, the downtempo music providing an alternative to the rocking beats on offer elsewhere.

Zero tolerance
Electronic Family has a zero tolerance policy to drugs. There will be strict controls at the entrances to the festival, and any searches that find hard drugs on a festival-goer will lead to their access to the festival being denied. If large amounts of illegal drugs are found on a person, we will immediately inform the police. The same will apply within the grounds of the festival - possession of and the use of hard drugs will not be tolerated. Anyone found using or supplying hard drugs will be removed from the festival site, and the use of soft drugs is not permitted either. In addition to this, it is not permitted to take your own food or drink into the festival - there will be plenty of stalls selling food and drinks within the festival grounds. Camera equipment, mobile telephones, weather and lockers
Electronic Family will consist of beautiful people in lovely surroundings. Obviously festival-goers will not be able to store all of their experiences in their memories, and so Electronic Family does permit you to bring your own cameras - providing the photos are for private use only. Often at festivals it is near-impossible to get mobile phone service. To counter this problem, we have arranged for Vodafone and T-Mobile to put up special masts at the festival - this should solve the problem of not being able to get any mobile service. Umbrellas are not permitted on site due to safety regulations, but it will be sensible to bring something warm to wear as it may get quite cold at night-time. There will be plenty of lockers available on site in which to store your belongings.
Traffic and transport Electronic Family takes place at the specially constructed new event area ‘Land of Bosse'. Here is the specially devised traffic plan:
Cycling
For people from Amsterdam and Amstelveen the easiest, quickest and cheapest way to get to the festival is by bike. There will be no extra charge for parking and you won't have to wait for the shuttle, you can just stretch your legs and cycle through the woods to the festival. The cycle route starts at the entrance of the Amsterdam Bos (Bosbaan) and will be clearly marked. Once at the site, there will be plenty of places to park bicycles and each will have a separate letter for identification. Just follow the instructions given by the traffic stewards. Please keep in mind the safety of other festival-goers when cycling near the festival site. There will also be a special reserved parking area for scooters and mopeds. At the end of the festival, the Nieuwe Meerlaan and Bosbaanweg will be closed and you should remember to bring bicycle lights if you are cycling back to Amsterdam. Anyone who wants to go to Amstelveen can take the bike path along the Burgermeester Colijnweg.
Car
At the time of writing, the location of car parks depends a little bit on the weather. Follow the ‘Dance Event' signs at the bottom of Exit 6 on the A9 (Alkmaar - Utrecht) and then follow the instructions from the traffic supervisors. For a fee of 15 Euros, the car can be parked in one of the car parking spaces. There is a free shuttle from the parking lot to the festival site and back. Please don't park on the Burgermeester Colijnweg, as this can lead to a substantial fine and the possibility that your car is towed away. This area is monitored by police and traffic stewards.
Carpool Not yet know how you are going to travel to Electronic Family? We have a good tip: do carpool!
RIDE HERE RIGHT NOW! This is the carpool service for events. On www.ridehere.nl you can download a carpool arrangement with other visitors to Electronic Family. Carpooling is fun and saves you money because you can share the cost together. If empty seats in cars are filled, there'll be better accessibility to Electronic Family for all - and a better environment too. Therefore, we want to give carpool lots of extra attention. For five cars in the carpool scheme, we will be giving upgrades to VIP. And the participants will receive 10 tokens.
Public Transport
Because the Land of Bosse is not easily accessible by public transport, the easiest way is to travel to Amsterdam Zuid-WTC. Shuttle buses depart from there for a small fee to the festival site.
Taxi & Kiss and Ride
There is a taxi rank on Burgermeester Colijnweg near the festival site. The same applies for the Kiss & Ride facility.
Guests at the Amsterdam Forest Electronic Family will be occurring in a unique place. We are particularly pleased that we can go into the Amsterdam Forest, and we want to impress on all visitors to the natural forest to please enter with caution.
As always, the advice for going anywhere in the forest is: ‘stay on the paths!' We are all guests in the forest, and that also means that we urge visitors to place litter, especially plastic cups and cigarette butts, in the designated bins. A better (party) environment starts with you!

Wekenlang viel de ellende met bakken uit de hemel, maar met het aftellen naar Electronic Family stijgt de kans op een langere warmteperiode met de dag. Het Amsterdamse Bos lonkt dan ook naar het stralende trance-festival Electronic Family, waar een drie-eenheid area's en een wereldprogrammering de zintuigen maximaal masseren: Family Stage, A State Of Trance en Space Ibiza And Kumharas Present Balaeric Beats.
Tickets
Er zijn nog tickets verkrijgbaar voor Electronic Family. Wij raden iedereen aan deze via de officiële weg in de voorverkoop op www.electronicfamily.nl te kopen. Mocht het festival voor 30 juli niet uitverkocht gaan dan zijn er voor € 60,- per stuk kaarten verkrijgbaar bij de entree van het festival.
Programma
Electronic Family is een buitenviering voor liefhebbers van een elektronisch geluid dat al ruim 20 jaar lang dansvloeren in extase brengt. Op twee podia zal trance in al haar gedaantes door het geluidssysteem stromen, terwijl op een derde stage de warme Ibiza sfeer tot leven wordt gewekt in het intieme stadsbos. Als slagroom op de trance-taart zal multi-instrumentalist/songschrijver Eller van Buuren de akoestische gitaar uit de koffer halen. Samen met een aantal bekende vocalisten brengt hij tijdens een unieke live-set een reeks tranceklassiekers ten gehore.
FAMILY STAGE
De tot Family Stage benoemde mainstage is de slagader van Electronic Family, waar de absolute top op trance-gebied een ode brengt aan de populairste dancestijl ooit. Met grootheden Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Markus Schulz, Gareth Emery, Aly & Fila , Gabriel & Dresden en Wippenberg op het veld, treedt de Elektronische Familie in één van haar sterkste opstellingen aan. Zanglijster Nadia Ali is op zaterdag gastvrouw van het hoofdpodium, maar zal het live-plankier ook bestijgen.

A STATE OF TRANCE
|De wereldwijd beluisterde radioshow A State Of Trance is een belangrijk contact moment tussen de internationale elektronische familieleden. Vanuit de hoofdstedelijke groenoase wordt op 30 juli een verbinding tot stand gebracht voor een live-uitzending van het trance-evenement, die miljoenen luisteraars aan de internetradio doet kluisteren. Het vuurwerk op de A State Of Trance stage wordt ontstoken door Setrise, waarna SEAT's Next DJ, Leon Bolier en Rank 1 vs Jochen Miller. Het muziekblok halverwege de dag wordt gevormd door onze nummer één Armin van Buuren, die met Markus Schulz, Ferry Corsten en Gareth Emery een drietal spannende duo-sets aangaat. Simon Patterson, Alex M.O.R.P.H en Sied van Riel vormen de drietrapsraket die tijdens de finale in verschillende kleuren uit elkaar spat.

SPACE IBIZA AND KUMHARAS PRESENT BALEARIC BEATS
Vanuit het warme zuiden vliegt Electronic Family een viertal mediterrane chill-meesters over die hun muziekmassages iedere zomer op feesteiland Ibiza in de praktijk brengen. Jose Maria Ramon, Malte, Eva Pacifico en Isaak schroeven de tempo's een paar schalen omlaag richting schommelstoelstand.

Zero tolerance
Wie vaker festivals bezoekt weet dat drugsbezit en gebruik verboden is en dus niet wordt toegestaan. Op Electronic Family geldt daarom een zero tolerance beleid. Bezoekers willen we erop wijzen dat er streng gecontroleerd wordt bij de entree op bezit van verboden middelen. Wordt bij de fouillering harddrugs aangetroffen dan wordt de bezoeker per direct de toegang tot het festival ontzegd. Bij aantreffen van grotere hoeveelheden volgt overdracht aan de politie. Op het terrein zelf wordt vanzelfsprekend eveneens de zero tolerance-norm gehandhaafd. Bezit en openlijk gebruik van harddrugs wordt dus niet getolereerd. Bij constatering volgt verwijdering van het festivalterrein. Gebruik van softdrugs is op Electronic Family evenmin toegestaan. Bij constatering van bezit hiervan volgt inbeslagname. Ook vloeistoffen, eten en drinken mogen niet mee het terrein op worden genomen. Meer informatie over de huisregels vind je op de website www.electronicfamily nl.
Foto apparatuur, mobiele telefonie, weer en lockers
Een prachtig terrein en leuke mensen. Dan moet je als bezoeker toch gewoon foto's kunnen nemen ter herinnering? Op Electronic Family is het meenemen van eigen foto apparatuur dus toegestaan, mits voor privé-doeleinden. Vaak is op festivals mobiele telefoonverkeer niet of nauwelijks mogelijk. Vodafone en T-mobile hebben zich bereid getoond om een zendmast te plaatsen waardoor dit probleem verholpen zou moeten zijn. Paraplu's zijn vanwege veiligheidsvoorschriften niet toegestaan. Sowieso is het verstandig om zelf iets warms mee te nemen. Het kan in de avonduren afkoelen. Er zijn hiervoor voldoende kluisjes aanwezig op het terrein.
Verkeer en vervoer
Electronic Family vindt plaats op het speciaal hiervoor aangelegde nieuwe evenemententerrein ‘Land van Bosse' hier is een apart verkeersplan voor bedacht.
Fietsen
Voor de Amsterdammers/Amstelveners onder het publiek is het makkelijkste, snelste en goedkoopste natuurlijk gewoon de fiets pakken. Geen extra kosten voor parkeren, niet wachten op de pendelbus, gewoon de benen strekken en op de tweewieler door het bos naar het festival. De fietsroute begint bij de entree van het Amsterdamse Bos (Kop van de Bosbaan) en wordt duidelijk aangegeven. Eenmaal bij het terrein gekomen zijn er verschillende parkeerplaatsen voor de fietsers ingericht en deze hebben elk een aparte letter ter herkenning. Volg hierbij de aanwijzingen van de verkeersbegeleiders! Hou er rekening mee dat je fiets naast andere fietsen komt te staan en ga voorzichtig met de tweewielers van je mede-bezoekers om. Voor de scooters en snorfietsen is een apart parkeerveld gereserveerd. Tegen het einde van het festival worden de Nieuwe Meerlaan en de Bosbaanweg afgesloten en verlicht voor de fietsers die weer terug naar Amsterdam willen fietsen. Wie naar Amstelveen wil kan het fietspad langs de Burgemeester Colijnweg nemen.
Auto
Op het moment van schrijven hangt het nog even af van de weersvoorspellingen en terreingesteldheid waar precies geparkeerd gaat worden. Volg de borden ‘Dance Event' onderaan afrit 6 op de A9 (Alkmaar - Utrecht) en volg vervolgens de aanwijzingen op van de verkeersbegeleiders. Tegen een vergoeding van 15 euro kan de auto worden geparkeerd. Er rijdt een gratis pendelbus van de parkeerplaats naar het festivalterrein en weer terug. Parkeren op de Bosrandweg of Burgemeester Colijnweg leidt tot wegslepen en een forse bekeuring. Hierop wordt toegezien door de politie en verkeersbegeleiding.

RIDE HERE RIGHT NOW! is de carpoolservice voor evenementen. Op www.ridehere.nl kun je gratis een carpool afspraak maken met andere bezoekers naar Electronic Family. Carpoolen is gezellig en je bespaart veel geld doordat je de kosten samen kunt delen. Door de lege stoelen in de auto's met elkaar op te vullen zorgen wij voor een betere bereikbaarheid van Electronic Family EN een beter milieu. Daarom zetten wij de carpoolers extra in het zonnetje. Zo mogen wij maar liefst vijf winnende auto's trekken. De inzittenden van deze auto's ontvangen een upgrade naar VIP. Bovendien ontvangen deze inzittenden allen 10 consumptiebonnen. Openbaar Vervoer Omdat het Land van Bosse slecht bereikbaar is met het openbaar vervoer is het makkelijkste om naar Amsterdam Zuid-WTC te reizen. Vandaar vertrekken pendelbussen tegen een kleine vergoeding naar het festivalterrein.
Taxi & Kiss and Ride
Op de Burgemeester Colijnweg vlakbij het festivalterrein wordt een taxistandplaats ingericht. Voor Kiss & Ride geldt eenzelfde voorziening. Te gast in het Amsterdamse Bos ‘ Electronic Family' gaat plaatsvinden op een unieke plaats. Wij zijn bijzonder blij dat we in het Amsterdamse Bos terecht kunnen en willen bij deze alle bezoekers op het hart drukken de natuur en het bos met voorzichtigheid te betreden. Zoals overal en altijd in het bos geldt: ‘blijf op de paden!'
Dat we met z'n allen in het bos te gast zijn houdt ook in dat we de bezoekers met klem willen verzoeken om afval, plastic bekers en met name sigarettenpeuken in de hiervoor bestemde afvalbakken te gooien. Een beter (feest)milieu begint bij jezelf!
Voor nu hopen we dat iedereen net zoveel zin heeft in ‘ Electronic Family' als wij zelf. Zoek je feestkleding aan, doe een zonnedansje en neem je beste humeur mee!
