Dear visitors of ‘Electronic Family'

Last week we posted the latest info on the upcoming festival ‘Electronic Family'. After having experienced the highly successful festival ‘A day at the park' of last weekend, which was situated at the same venue, we feel there are some points that need some more explanation.

Fenna
However, before getting into this we like to inform all of you on the happy news coming from the Van Buuren residency. Last Sunday Armin and his wife Erika enriched their family with the birth of their first child and lovely daughter Fenna! ‘Electronic Family' wishes them lots of love with the little girl and we hope their excitement and happiness lasts for a very long time!

Doorsale
We are pleased to see the ‘Electronic Family' already has so much members the first year. We will not sell out in 2011 but for now we are happy with the result. This means there will be tickets available at the door. Official presales stop Friday at midnight but those of you last minute deciders don't have to look into online salespoints or the black market. If you like a 100% guarantee to enter without any problems simply buy at the door. Please note the ‘Electronic Family' doors close at 20.00 hrs.

Electronic payment
The festival offers the possibility to buy tokens through electronic payment. However we can not 100% guarantee this as the internet runs through a specially made outdoor connection which is also used for the streaming of A State of Trance at the festival. Please take this into account and carry a sufficient amount of cash with you which you are willing to spend.

Minimal age
Like most Dutch festivals we run an entry policy of 18 years and older. When in doubt our security will check for ID.

Poncho's
The weather forecast for Saturday is promising. It very much looks like a day without any rainfall. In case this turns around we have ordered thousands of poncho's. These can be obtained at the bars. On top the A State of Trance area is situated in a large tent for shelter.

Location venue
To make sure everybody can find his or her way the ‘Land van Bosse' venue as easy as possible please take a look at the different options of transport.

Car: put in your navigation ‘Amstelveen' as name of the city, then for street: ‘Nieuwe Meerlaan' crossing ‘Bosrandweg'. That way you will be directed to the trafficposts we have set up for the festival. If you are in the surrounding please follow the signs ‘Dance Event'.

Public Transport: at a rate of 5 euro for a both ways ticket, buscoaches to the venue leave from the Amsterdam Zuid-WTC railwaystation. They are parked on the Strawinskilaan close to the station. Follow the signs at the entrance hall of the station.

Bikes: we have plenty of parking for bikes. Most convenient is to cycle to the official entrance of the Amsterdamse Bos. From there signs will guide you to the venue.

Taxi's, Kiss & Ride: taxi's leave from the Burgemeester Colijnweg. If they ask you where to go please mention Burgemeester Colijnweg and ask them to follow the signs of Kiss & Ride.

Exclusive! Eller & friends supported by Baggabownz live in the forrest I
t already was announced through social media. Eller van Buuren will transfer his famous hotelsessions into ‘forrest sessions' in front of a small selected audience. The first 100 visitors buying 20 drinktokens obtain two tickets to witness the Eller Unplugged session at a specially arranged spot near the festival area. Off course Eller will be accompanied by the vocals of none less than Nadia Ali and Christian Burns and his own band Baggabownz. Make sure to be early at the venue if you don't want to miss out on this!

ASOT on twitter during ‘Electronic Family'
To emphasize the family feeling nothing is more important than the connection between artist and audience. This is why ‘Electronic Family' put a special ASOT hashtag to use on twitter. Through #asoteff visitors can make requests for tracks to be played and share their comments on the performances.

Zero tolerance
This is an important message for the Electronic Family people. Regardless of the reputation of Holland - and specifically the reputation that Amsterdam has in the world when it comes to being tolerant of the use of drugs and other illegal substances - the truth is very different! A strict ‘zero tolerance' policy will be enforced by the organization, as required by the Amsterdam police and City Council of Amstelveen. This means there will be stringent searches at the doors to check festival-goers for the possession of hard drugs and weapons. Offenders will be denied access to the festival and risk a large fine or even prosecution by the Dutch law enforcement. Don't take any chances, and make sure the only thing you bring with you is your party spirit!

Beste bezoekers van 'Electronic Family'

Vorige week hebben we ons informatiebericht al online gezet maar omdat we graag de puntjes op de -i zetten vinden we het nodig om op enkele punten nog even een verduidelijking/toelichting te geven. Dit na het inzicht dat afgelopen week is opgedaan tijdens het festival 'A day at the park' op dezelfde locatie.

Voordat we daarop ingaan willen we natuurlijk iedereen op de hoogte brengen van het heuglijke feit dat Armin van Buuren afgelopen zondag de trotse vader is geworden van dochter Fenna. 'Electronic Family' wenst Armin en Erika ontzettend veel liefde en geluk met Fenna en we hopen dat ze nog lang op de roze wolk mogen zitten waar ze ongetwijfeld nu op vertoeven! Dan nu de mededelingen van huishoudelijke aard.

Deurverkoop

Voor een eerste editie is de animo voor Electronic Family ontzettend groot, toch zal het festival niet uitverkopen wat betekent dat er nog deurverkoop is. De voorverkoop stopt om vrijdagnacht 24.00 uur. Bezoekers die last minute beslissen kunnen dan gewoon bij de entree een kaartje halen en hoeven niet op internet te kijken of van zwarthandelaren een ticket te kopen. Wel zo vertrouwd! De poorten van Electronic Family sluiten om 20.00 uur 's avonds.

Pinnen

Er is op het terrein een speciale internetverbinding aangelegd waarmee pinnen mogelijk zou moeten zijn. Afgelopen zaterdag bleek deze een tijdlang onbruikbaar vanwege een draadbreuk. Deze breuk is verholpen en de rest van het festival werkte de pin gewoon weer maar het kan geen kwaad om hier alsnog rekening mee te houden en voor je zelf voldoende cash geld mee te nemen.

Minimale Leeftijd

We krijgen ook wat vragen over de minimale leeftijd. Deze is 18 jaar en ouder zoals op vrijwel alle festivals. Bij twijfel kan legitimatie gevraagd worden.

Poncho's op te halen waar?

De weersvoorspellingen zien er goed uit op dit moment en het lijkt eindelijk weer eens een mooie festivaldag te worden maar niets is in Nederland zo veranderlijk als het weer. Voor het geval het nodig is zijn voor alle bezoekers poncho's besteld. Mocht er een serieuze regenbui vallen dan kunnen deze bij de barren worden afgehaald en sowieso is de ASOT area van een tent voorzien.

Locatie terrein

Voor de duidelijkheid willen we nog even de juiste locatie aangeven. Het terrein heeft namelijk geen officieel adres.

Auto's: voer op je navigatiesysteem Amstelveen 'Nieuwe Meerlaan' kruising 'Bosrandweg' in. Dan kom je vanzelf bij de bewegwijzering naar de parkeerplaatsen terecht en word je opgevangen door medewerkers van de verkeersbegeleiding.

Openbaar vervoer: er wordt tegen een vergoeding van 5 euro voor een retour gependeld vanaf Amsterdam Zuid-WTC naar het terrein en weer terug. De pendelbussen staan gereed op de Strawinskilaan. Volg vanuit de aankomsthal de borden.

Fietsers: er zijn fietsparkeervelden rondom het terrein. De makkelijkste route vanuit Amsterdam is vanaf de ingang van het Amsterdamse Bos bij het bezoekerscentrum. Deze route wordt aangegeven door het bos zelf. Op de terugweg mogen alle fietsers over de gewone weg van de Nieuwe Meerlaan en dan via de Bosbaanweg terug fietsen. In het bos zelf is het dan immers te donker. Fietsers vanuit Amstelveen of Aalsmeer dienen de Bosrandweg aan te houden en kunnen vandaar doorrijden naar de fietsenstallingen.

Taxi's en Kiss & Ride: op de Burgemeester Colijnweg wordt een taxi-standplaats ingericht en daar is ook ruimte voor de Kiss & Ride.

Exclusief! Eller & friends supported by Baggabownz live in het bos

Het was al aangekondigd via de social media. Voor een select gezelschap liefhebbers zal Eller van Buuren zijn befaamde hotelsessies naar het Amsterdamse Bos brengen. De eerste honderd bezoekers die 20 munten of meer kopen krijgen twee tickets om de Eller Unplugged sessie bij te wonen op een speciaal hiervoor ingerichte plek buiten het terrein. Het spreekt natuurlijk voor zich dat zijn gitaarspel begeleid wordt door de vocalen van Nadia Ali en Christian Burns en zijn eigen band Baggabownz. Zorg dus dat je er vroeg bij bent als je dit niet wilt missen!

ASOT op twitter tijdens Electronic Family

Om het familiegevoel deze dag te benadrukken is de binding tussen artiest en publiek erg belangrijk. Daarom is er op twitter een speciale ASOT hashtag ingesteld voor Electronic Family. Via #asoteff kunnen bezoekers platen aanvragen en hun mening geven. Dit geldt niet alleen voor de bezoekers op het terrein zelf maar ook voor de volgers van de livestream.

Zero tolerance Op Electronic Family geldt het 'zero tolerance' beleid ten aanzien van hard- en softdrugs. Dit betekent dat geen enkele vorm hiervan wordt toegestaan op het festival. Bezoekers die zich hier niet aan houden lopen de kans van het terrein verwijderd te worden of bij aantreffen van grotere hoeveelheden zelfs overgedragen te worden aan de politie. Neem geen risico en hou het gewoon gezellig bij een drankje!
